This witty, sly, and deeply moving play explores the hopes, fears, and loves of Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford. From the family quarters of the White House, each of the women confides secrets about her early years as well as her feelings about imminent retirement, depicting the deeply personal portraits of how each wrestles with what Pat Nixon called “the hardest unpaid job in the world.”
